Small privatization brings in UAH 9.58B for Ukraine in 2 years

The small privatization of state-owned assets in Ukraine has brought about a significant economic impact of UAH 9.58 billion over the past two years. The Ukrainian Economy Ministry reported that through 839 successful online auctions via the Prozorro.Sale system, the state budget received UAH 6.65 billion in direct revenues. Added to this were UAH 1.2 billion in value-added tax (VAT) and commitments from new owners to repay debts of privatized enterprises, totaling the economic effect.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, Economy Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko highlighted the importance of resuming privatization efforts amidst the ongoing conflict, with the sale of 99 asset packages generating UAH 4 billion. Over 2,800 bidders participated in the auctions, with a competitive rate of 4.73 bidders per lot on average.

The majority of privatization revenues came from the sale of asset packages, including industrial property, warehouses, hotels, and transport vehicles. The resumption of small privatization in Ukraine, following the adoption of new legislation in September 2022, has been instrumental in driving these positive economic outcomes.
