SK spy agency: NK troops sent to Russia for training

In a shocking turn of events, North Korea has reportedly sent 1,500 soldiers to Russia for training, marking its first military involvement in Moscow’s war against Ukraine. The soldiers, who are special forces fighters, travelled on seven Russian ships and were personally inspected by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

According to South Korea’s National Intelligence Service, large Russian transport aircraft have been frequently traveling between Vladivostok and Pyongyang, indicating a growing alliance between Russia and North Korea. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that North Korean troops joining the war is a real threat.

US Defence Secretary LLoyd Austin expressed concern over the reports but stated he cannot confirm the troop deployment. Meanwhile, South Korea’s intelligence agency provided evidence of North Korea’s involvement, captured by a satellite operated by the South.

The situation has prompted US House Intelligence Committee chair Mike Turner to urge an immediate response from the United States and NATO allies. With reports suggesting that up to 12,000 troops may be sent by North Korea, the situation remains tense and requires careful monitoring. (ANI)
