PASOK closes gap with New Democracy in latest poll

A recent poll has revealed significant gains for the PASOK party, narrowing the gap with the ruling New Democracy party in Greece. According to the Metron Analysis poll, PASOK now stands at 19.8%, while New Democracy is at 29.1%. SYRIZA, the party that finished second in the 2023 national elections, has declined to 8.7%, ranking fifth.

Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, ND is at 22.5% and PASOK has seen an increase to 15.3%. Nikos Androulakis of PASOK emerged as the most popular leader, with 41% favorability. The survey also showed negative evaluations of the government and opposition parties.

When asked about the most suitable prime minister, 37% chose “none of the above,” while Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis received 29%. The poll indicates a shifting political landscape in Greece with PASOK making gains and SYRIZA facing decline.
