Muscat – The Secretariat General of the Tender Board in Oman has recently signed six framework contracts with local companies to supply desktop computers, laptops, and tablets to government agencies. This strategic move is designed to enhance procurement efficiency and effectively address the technological needs of various government departments.
These contracts, which include 228 options, prioritize the use of local resources and aim to support the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the country. Building on the success of a recent pilot project involving the procurement of government vehicles through an electronic order management system, this initiative demonstrates Oman’s commitment to modernizing its procurement processes.
Eng. Najat bint Ali al Siyabi highlighted the significance of incorporating electronic automation in procurement, while Moaz bin Ahmed al Hanaei, CEO of Ansar Technology, underscored the contracts’ role in promoting local competition and facilitating entry into regional markets.
