North Korea denies troop deployments in Russia

North Korea Denies Sending Troops to Russia amid Ukraine Conflict

A recent accusation by Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky claimed North Korea sent troops to Russia for the Ukraine conflict, but North Korea has vehemently denied these claims. South Korea also expressed concern and demanded Moscow to cease cooperation with Pyongyang. However, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov labeled the allegations as a “bogus story.”

During a UN session on disarmament and international security, a North Korean representative dismissed the accusations, stating they were groundless rumors aimed at damaging the country’s reputation and disrupting international relations. North Korea emphasized that any arms transfers between sovereign states were not relevant to the discussion at hand.

Russia and North Korea have strengthened their ties since the start of the conflict in Ukraine, culminating in a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement. This alliance includes provisions for mutual military assistance in case of invasion. Russian President Vladimir Putin has requested parliament to ratify this significant document.
