North Korea denies Russia troop deployment claims

North Korea Denies Sending Troops to Russia for Ukraine Conflict

A recent accusation by Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky claiming that North Korea had sent troops to Russia to participate in the conflict in Ukraine has been strongly denied by North Korea. The accusations have been dismissed as an attempt to tarnish Pyongyang’s image and create tension between the two countries.

In response to the allegations, a North Korean representative speaking at the UN General Assembly session on disarmament and international security, refuted the claims as groundless rumors aimed at smearing their image and undermining their friendly relations with Russia. The representative also emphasized that arms transfers between sovereign states are not relevant to the current debate.

The relationship between Russia and North Korea has been strengthening, with a recent treaty signed to upgrade their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership, promising military assistance in the event of an invasion. The recent allegations are seen as an attempt by the West to hinder the growing cooperation between the two countries.
