Morocco stands in solidarity with Lebanon, calling for an immediate ceasefire and respect for the country’s sovereignty in a recent International Conference in Support of Lebanon’s People and Sovereignty in Paris. Representing the kingdom, Ambassador Fouad Yazourh emphasized the need for Lebanon to no longer bear the burden of external conflicts, urging the international community to facilitate a full ceasefire supervised by the UN.
Highlighting the importance of providing humanitarian aid and rebuilding war-damaged areas with support from official Lebanese institutions, Yazourh reiterated Morocco’s vision for a lasting peace in the region, centered around a two-state solution for Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital, as advocated by King Mohammed VI. He further emphasized the link between the Palestinian issue and tensions in the Middle East.
With a focus on diplomacy and reason, Yazourh stressed the immediate cessation of hostilities in Lebanon and Gaza as a top priority, alongside a political process to pave the way for a just and stable peace in the region.
The conference aimed to mobilize global support for Lebanon’s humanitarian needs and institutions, emphasizing the urgency for peace and stability in the region.
