Imran’s wife Bushra Bibi granted bail in Toshakhana case – Pakistan

Bushra Bibi Released from Adiala Jail After Nine Months

Bushra Bibi, the wife of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan, was released from Adiala Jail after almost nine months following her bail approval in the Toshakhana case. The Toshakhana reference had led to a 14-year sentence for both Imran and Bushra back in January, just days before the February general elections.

Bushra had been held at Adiala Jail since her arrest on January 31, where Imran Khan also remains locked up for a separate Toshakhana case. The recent case accused the couple of keeping an expensive Bvlgari jewelry set at a low price, causing loss to the exchequer.

PTI Welcomes Bushra Back

PTI celebrated Bushra’s release, praising her courage and resilience during her time in jail. PTI Chairman Gohar Khan expressed hope for Imran’s release soon and dismissed rumors of any backdoor deals.

The IHC also ordered Imran’s production and granted him a virtual meeting with his lawyers. The case has faced delays due to security concerns and government restrictions on prisoner meetings.

Bushra Bibi’s release marks a significant development in the ongoing legal battles faced by the former first family, with more updates expected to follow.
