The United Nations Chief Calls for Urgent Action to Protect Palestinian Civilians During Ongoing Crisis in North Gaza

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed deep concern over the suffering of the Palestinian population in northern Gaza due to the current Israeli military operation and blockade. He emphasized the importance of protecting civilians and ensuring access to humanitarian aid.

Guterres highlighted the urgent need to address the escalating health crisis in the region, particularly regarding the delay in the polio vaccination campaign. The UNRWA also appealed to Israeli authorities for access to provide essential assistance in the conflict-affected area.

The deadly military operation in Gaza has claimed hundreds of lives, including women and children, leading to a dire humanitarian situation. International condemnation and calls for an immediate ceasefire have been issued, as the conflict continues to escalate.
