FM calls for urgent global support for Lebanon

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Ayman Safadi called on the international community to urgently assist Lebanon in addressing the needs of over 1.2 million displaced people due to Israeli aggression. Speaking at the International Conference in Support of Lebanon and its Sovereignty inaugurated by French President Emmanuel Macron, Safadi emphasized the critical need for immediate international support to help Lebanon accommodate the displaced.

Safadi condemned the Israeli aggression as illegitimate and barbaric, stressing the importance of focusing on addressing the root cause of the crisis. He called for global recognition of Israel’s policies, describing them as brutal and expansionist. Safadi also highlighted Jordan’s commitment to supporting Lebanon in rebuilding its institutions and providing humanitarian assistance.

He urged the international community to end the aggression against Lebanon, enforce UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and provide necessary resources to the Lebanese Armed Forces. Safadi concluded by emphasizing the need for coordinated efforts to assist Lebanon and send a clear message that further violations of international law will not be tolerated.
