Digitel begins telecommunications services in Torit

Digitel Holding Limited has officially launched its mobile network services in Torit, Eastern Equatoria State, South Sudan. The company, owned by South Sudanese, aims to provide quality services and expand its network across the country. The launch event was well attended by residents who expressed excitement over the improved telephone communication and internet access opportunities.

The company representative, Athian James, emphasized the focus on offering the best services in Torit and the Eastern Equatoria State. The fiber network has been extended to ensure quality network coverage in the region, marking a significant achievement for Digitel.

Eastern Equatoria State Minister of Information and Communication, Elia John Ahaji, commended Digitel for bridging the digital divide and supporting ICT integration in education. Local residents, such as Hellen Aurelio and Peter Kuon Gai, shared their positive experiences with Digitel’s services.

Torit County Commissioner, Christopher Andrew, expressed optimism about the company’s operations and urged them to employ local youth. The arrival of Digitel in the market has been well received, with hopes for enhanced communication and competition in the region.
