Albanian PM Rama to host Thessaloniki rally in November

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama plans to hold a rally for Albanian immigrants in Greece on November 3 in Thessaloniki. This event aims to engage the diaspora ahead of Albania’s 2025 parliamentary elections, following a similar rally in Athens earlier this year.

Despite tensions between Greece and Albania, Greece recently supported starting Albania’s EU accession negotiations. Rama faces criticism at home for allegedly targeting political rivals using a special prosecution office. This includes the recent arrest of opposition leader Ilir Meta.

In an effort to connect with Albanian immigrants in Greece, Prime Minister Edi Rama is set to host a rally in Thessaloniki on November 3. This gathering aims to involve the diaspora in Albania’s upcoming parliamentary elections in 2025. Despite tensions between Greece and Albania, Greece has shown support for Albania’s EU accession negotiations.
