88% of Ukrainians support EU membership, 86% support NATO accession

Recent data from a survey conducted by the Razumkov Centre in Ukraine revealed that over 80% of Ukrainians would vote in favor of Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO if a referendum were held today. The survey, conducted from 20 to 26 September, showed that 81% of Ukrainians were ready to participate in a referendum on EU accession with 88% in favor.

Similarly, if a referendum on NATO accession were held, 82% of respondents would participate, with 86% of them supporting accession. The survey also highlighted regional disparities in support, with higher percentages in the west for both EU and NATO accession.

This survey, conducted as part of the USAID/ENGAGE activity, provides valuable insights into the shifting attitudes towards EU and NATO membership in Ukraine. Previous polls also showed strong support for EU membership, indicating a trend towards closer integration with Western institutions.

The findings suggest a growing consensus among Ukrainians in favor of joining the EU and NATO, reflecting the country’s aspirations for closer ties with Europe.
