The 6th World Media Summit, held in Urumqi, emphasized the responsible use of artificial intelligence in media to accelerate digital transformation. Participants discussed the vital role of media in leveraging AI opportunities while addressing potential risks it poses. The summit, themed “Artificial Intelligence and Media Transformation,” highlighted the need for ethical journalism practices to combat misinformation and enhance sustainable development storytelling.
With over 500 attendees from 208 media organizations, the event stressed governing AI’s impact on social and economic development. Co-hosted by Xinhua News Agency and Xinjiang regional government, the gathering called for utilizing AI to enhance news gathering and dissemination in a positive manner.
The summit underscored the importance of promoting professional ethics in media and harnessing AI to improve quality of life. It aimed to explore innovative methods for utilizing AI in media work effectively, showcasing its positive role in shaping global sustainability narratives.
