A tragic and shocking attack occurred at the premises of Turkish state-run aerospace and defense company TUSAS, resulting in the loss of four lives and numerous injuries. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the act of terrorism, while Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed the death of at least two attackers.
During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Erdogan expressed his sorrow over the incident, receiving condolences from Putin. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, with various groups like Kurdish militants, ISIS, and leftist extremists having conducted similar acts in the past.
Security footage showed the assailants arriving in a taxi and gaining access to the complex through an explosive device. Despite the chaos, Turkish security forces were quick to respond, with helicopters spotted overhead. TUSAS, known for its contributions to Turkey’s defense industry, was identified as the target of the attack.
