Tragedy Strikes the Syrian Badia as 11 Members of Government Forces and Fatemiyoun Brigade Killed
Recently, a commander and two members of the Afghan Fatemiyoun brigade, along with eight soldiers from the Syrian government forces, tragically lost their lives in two separate attacks on the main road between Palmyra and Sukhna in eastern Syria.
According to a military source, ISIS gunmen ambushed a military vehicle belonging to the Fatemiyoun General, leading to the deaths of two members and the capture of their leader, Rashad Hamza Nur al-Din. Later, the patrol found Nur al-Din’s lifeless body, shot in the head and handcuffed.
Shortly after this incident, eight soldiers from the Syrian government forces fell victim to an ISIS ambush on the Homs-Palmyra road. In other tragic events, three members of Syrian government forces and a pro-Iran faction were killed in separate attacks in Deir-ez-Zor and Homs.
These heartbreaking losses serve as a stark reminder of the dangerous and volatile situation in Syria’s Badia region, where violence and conflict continue to claim lives. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the fallen soldiers and brigade members during this difficult time.
