German submarine-hunting planes are set to patrol the North Atlantic from Scotland as part of a new defense pact between Britain and Germany amid escalating Russian threats. The defense ministers will sign the agreement in London, focusing on enhancing European security in response to increased Russian aggression.
The pact includes joint projects in air, land, sea, and cyber domains to strengthen NATO’s European pillar. The alliance aims to close capability gaps, prioritize developing long-range strike weapons, and protect crucial infrastructure like underwater cables in the North Sea.
Additionally, British and German forces will work together in Estonia and Lithuania, enhancing deterrence on NATO’s eastern flank. Collaboration on new drone technology and defense manufacturing is also part of the agreement.
