The United Kingdom and Germany have inked a bilateral defence pact aimed at addressing the growing security threats, including Russian aggression. The Trinity House Agreement, signed on Wednesday, focuses on enhancing cooperation on NATO’s eastern flank and bolstering Europe’s defense capabilities.
UK Defence Secretary John Healey emphasized the shared values and threats faced by both nations, highlighting the need for collaboration in the face of conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. His German counterpart, Boris Pistorius, echoed the importance of strengthening the European pillar of NATO.
The agreement also entails joint efforts in developing advanced weapons, upgrading military equipment, and protecting vital underwater cables in the North Sea.
