Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed the attack on social media, stating that there were casualties and injuries.
Reports indicated a possible suicide attack and the presence of hostages, although details were not officially confirmed by authorities.
Emergency services were on the scene, with images showing the damaged site and an exchange of gunfire in the area.
An investigation has been launched into the incident at the TUSAS facility, a key defense and aviation company in Turkey.
