Tinubu vows to tackle hunger crisis, says River basin boss

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Engr. Adedeji Ashiru, expressed confidence that the issue of hunger in Nigeria will soon be a thing of the past. He credited President Bola Tinubu for prioritizing efforts to address food insecurity, which is already showing results. Ashiru made these remarks during a training session for 200 Southwest farmers in irrigation farming organized by O-ORBDA in Abeokuta.

He highlighted Tinubu’s commitment to ending food scarcity and enhancing agricultural practices, aiming to eliminate hunger in the country effectively. The training program is part of the President’s initiatives for job creation and boosting food production in the agricultural sector, emphasizing the importance of water management and partnerships for agricultural productivity.

Collaborating with the Ogun State government, the initiative aims to equip farmers with necessary skills and resources for improved productivity, aligning with the state’s vision for food security and contributing to Nigeria’s overall efforts to combat hunger.
