Pezeshkian aims to prevent conflict expansion while Modi condemns Israel’s genocide

President Masoud Pezeshkian Urges End to Israel’s Genocide in Meeting with Indian PM

President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized Iran’s commitment to preventing regional tensions during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the BRICS summit in Kazan. Pezeshkian condemned Israel’s actions, citing the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran as an example of the regime’s warmongering. Modi also denounced Israel’s atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon, expressing support for peace in the region.

Both leaders criticized the double standards in human rights discourse, with Pezeshkian advocating for increased economic cooperation among regional countries. He proposed a communication network similar to BRICS for enhancing regional security and welfare. Modi agreed on the importance of economic ties and urged swift implementation of agreements, such as the development of Chabahar port.

Modi fondly recalled his meeting with Ayatollah Khamenei in 2016 and requested Pezeshkian to convey his regards. The officials reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting peace in the region.
