Moscow Spies Arrested for Planning Kyiv Attack

In a recent shocking revelation, Ukraine’s security service (SBU) and the National Police thwarted a potential terrorist attack orchestrated by Russian military intelligence (the GRU) in Kyiv. The agents, recruited by Russian intelligence, aimed to cause mass civilian casualties in the capital to incite panic among citizens.

A 20-year-old woman from Zaporizhia was recruited and given detailed instructions on how to create an explosive device using improvised materials. The woman’s 26-year-old partner was also roped in to collaborate with the aggressor by setting fire to military equipment in the Zaporizhia area as a “control” task for the GRU.

The SBU counterintelligence agents acted swiftly, apprehending the suspects in the act of trying to set fire to military equipment. The perpetrators face charges of state treason and potentially life imprisonment with property confiscation. This disruption serves as a reminder of the ongoing threats posed by Russian intelligence in Ukraine.

This incident underscores the importance of vigilance and swift action to combat terrorism and state-sponsored attacks. Ukraine’s security forces remain steadfast in safeguarding citizens against such threats.
