Minister Supports Improved Vocational Training Programs

Empowering Vocational Training in Jordan: Minister Khaled Bakkar’s Vision

Minister of Labor and Chairman of the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC), Khaled Bakkar, is spearheading efforts to modernize vocational training institutes in Jordan. During a recent visit to the Ain al-Basha Vocational Training Institute, Bakkar emphasized the need for specialized programs to meet the demands of today’s technology-driven job market.

Bakkar highlighted the importance of collaboration with training partners to boost enrollment and establish centers of excellence in vocational education. He emphasized the value of equipping young people with technical skills, not only for employment but also to foster entrepreneurship, with support from the Development and Employment Fund.

The VTC Director General, Ahmad Gharaibeh, provided insights into the institute’s operations, serving 572 trainees with 17 programs and a strong infrastructure. The institute’s partnerships with organizations like the German International Cooperation Agency and the International Labor Organization showcase a commitment to providing diverse training opportunities.

With a focus on empowering graduates and enhancing vocational skills, Bakkar’s vision for vocational training in Jordan is set to create a skilled workforce ready to tackle the challenges of the future.
