Urgent Update: Al-Awda Hospital in Gaza Faces Catastrophe

By Palestine Chronicle Staff

The dire situation at Al-Awda Hospital in Gaza has reached catastrophic levels, with medical supplies, food, and fuel running critically low due to the ongoing siege by Israeli forces. The hospital director, Dr. Mohamed Saleha, described the situation as “extremely catastrophic” as the hospital is under constant attack, making it difficult for staff to provide essential care.

Dr. Saleha issued a plea for urgent assistance, warning of a genuine catastrophe if supplies are not delivered soon. The United Nations for Refugees and Works Agency (UNRWA) also urged Israeli authorities to allow access for lifesaving operations in northern Gaza, where medical facilities are operating at minimal capacity.

The Israeli military offensive in Gaza has resulted in over 600 deaths and left many trapped under rubble without access to crucial aid. International condemnation has been directed at Israel for its actions, with ongoing calls for an immediate ceasefire to prevent further loss of life.

As the situation escalates, it is imperative for humanitarian agencies to intervene and ensure that aid reaches those in need in Gaza, where innocent civilians continue to suffer the devastating consequences of this conflict.
