Israeli Airstrike Devastates Residential Building in Beirut Suburb

An Israeli airstrike demolished a building in southern Beirut, 40 minutes after issuing a warning about “Hezbollah facilities” in the area. Despite the strike’s proximity to a park and the French ambassador’s residence, no casualties were immediately reported. Amnesty International criticized Israel’s targeting of a Hezbollah-linked financial institution, calling it a potential war crime.

The Israeli military also made unverified claims about Hezbollah storing assets at a Beirut hospital. Additionally, Israeli authorities arrested individuals in Jerusalem over an alleged Iranian-assisted plot. As tensions escalate, Iran warns neighbours against assisting any potential Israeli attack.

Hezbollah retaliated by firing rockets into central Israel, causing no harm. The situation remains tense as Israel seeks to revive a ceasefire deal with Hamas. Amid escalating conflict, concerns about humanitarian aid in Gaza persist, with potential Iranian retaliation looming on the horizon. This ongoing shadow war between Israel and Iran poses a threat to regional stability.
