During the 16th summit of BRICS in Russia’s Kazan, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met to discuss various issues. Pezeshkian condemned Israel’s assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh and emphasized Iran’s commitment to promoting peace and friendship. Pezeshkian highlighted the potential for Iran-India cooperation, particularly through the development of Chabahar Port. He proposed creating a communication network among regional countries with the support of BRICS. Both leaders agreed on the importance of regional cooperation and peaceful resolutions to conflicts, with Modi condemning the killing of innocent individuals in Gaza and Lebanon. He advocated for consistent application of human rights principles and conveyed his country’s commitment to restoring peace in the region.
