Feminism: A Broken Promise for Jewish Women

In my early 20s, feminism felt like a revelation, a promise of equality for women. But on October 7, as Jewish women faced brutal violence, the feminist movement remained silent. The exclusive nature of feminism became apparent as Jewish women were left out of the narrative.

Global response to the atrocities was lacking, highlighting selective empathy. The absence of support for Jewish women in crisis raised questions about the true motives of the feminist movement.

Jewish pain seemed to be dismissed, signaling a dangerous trend in the feminist discourse. As a Jewish feminist, I refuse to stay silent in the face of this betrayal. The feminist movement must uphold its promises of inclusivity and solidarity to truly empower all women.

It’s time to demand accountability and rebuild a feminist movement that lives up to its name and values. Let’s remind the world that true empowerment comes from lifting all women, not just a select few.
