Arab Impact on US Elections

Can Arabs in the US influence the outcome of the upcoming election between Trump and Harris?

The Arab American Institute reports that there are 3.7 million Arabs and Muslims in America, though relatively small compared to the total voting population of 240 million. However, in the American electoral system, this demographic may have significant influence in certain states, particularly swing states.

In light of recent events, such as Israel’s attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, Arab and Muslim voters in America are expected to turn out in record numbers for the November 5 election between Trump and Harris. Polls indicate that Palestine is a top priority for this voter bloc.

Recent polls, including one conducted by YouGov for Arab News, suggest that Arab Americans may shift their support from the Democratic Party to Trump, as a form of punishment for the current administration’s perceived lack of action against Israel’s military campaigns in the region.

Despite Trump’s past rhetoric, he seems to be acknowledging the importance of the Arab vote. However, the question remains if the elected candidate will truly represent the interests of Arab Americans.
