APC questions Adeleke on safety of Osun flyover

The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has raised concerns about Governor Ademola Adeleke’s decision to restrict heavy-duty trucks from using the Olaiya Flyover in Osogbo. They believe the directive is unnecessary and have demanded evidence to prove that the bridge is indeed unsafe.

In response to the governor’s directive, the immediate past Osun State Commissioner for Works, Oluremi Omowaiye, defended the construction of the bridge, highlighting the rigorous evaluation process the project underwent. He challenged the Adeleke administration to provide a technical report showing the bridge’s alleged substandard condition.

While Adeleke cited safety concerns as the reason behind the directive, the Osun PDP defended the governor, stating that motorists had raised alarms about the bridge’s poor condition. They emphasized the importance of prioritizing the safety of Osun residents over political legacies.

Despite the differing opinions, the debate continues on the future of the Olaiya Flyover and the actions required to ensure the safety and well-being of the people of Osun State.
