Al Jazeera Condemns Israeli Allegations Against Gaza Journalists as Propaganda

Al Jazeera strongly refuted claims by the Israeli military that six of its journalists in Gaza are members of Hamas and PIJ, denouncing the “unfounded allegations” and “fabricated evidence.” The network named the journalists and dismissed the military’s “documents” as baseless.

The Israeli army accused the journalists of promoting propaganda for Hamas, following Al Jazeera’s report on potential war crimes by Israeli forces in Gaza. Despite restrictions, Al Jazeera’s correspondents have been reporting the dire humanitarian situation in northern Gaza, where Israeli forces continue a renewed assault.

Israel’s hostility towards Al Jazeera has escalated, with recent closures of offices and attacks on journalists. Last year alone, three Al Jazeera journalists were killed by Israeli forces. The press freedom watchdog revealed a pattern of targeting journalists, with over 128 media workers killed in Gaza during the war.

Al Jazeera called for urgent international action to protect its journalists, emphasizing that “journalism is not a crime.” The network remains committed to reporting the truth and exposing the realities of conflict in Gaza.
