AFU downs 57 Russian drones, 15 lost in 80-character zone

The Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully shot down 57 Russian attack drones on the night of October 23, 2024. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in Telegram, following an attack from 81 Shahed-type attack UAVs and unidentified drones from the directions of Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk. The enemy also targeted Odesa region with a guided missile from the Black Sea. By 9:00 a.m., 57 enemy UAVs were confirmed downed in various regions of Ukraine, with 15 Russian drones lost and up to 9 still observed in Ukrainian airspace. The night raid of “Shahed” had consequences in Sumy, showcasing the impact of the attack. Air alerts were raised in multiple regions as the attack by UAVs began in the south of Ukraine. This successful defense by the Ukrainian forces highlights their strength and determination in protecting their country from external threats.
