UN criticizes Israeli airstrikes in Beirut – DW

Israeli strikes in northern Gaza have resulted in at least 87 people dead or missing, including eight children. The strikes targeted the town of Beit Lahiya as part of a large-scale operation against Hamas militants. In response, a drone targeted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s house, though no casualties were reported.

Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that Israel’s offensive has now killed over 42,000 Palestinians, with a high number of women and children among the casualties. This retaliation follows a previous attack by Hamas that claimed the lives of many in southern Israel.

Despite the grim situation, Israel remains committed to acting in its own interests, as reiterated by Netanyahu in a call with US presidential candidate Donald Trump. The ongoing conflict continues to take a toll on civilians in the region.
