In a recent escalation between Ukraine and Russia, Ukrainian drones reportedly targeted four plants in Tula, Tambov, and Voronezh oblasts in Russia, as claimed by local authorities. The Russian Defense Ministry retaliated by destroying 11 drones over different regions. The Biokhim distillery in Tambov Oblast was set on fire by a Ukrainian drone, while two other distilleries in Tula Oblast were also attacked. Additionally, a minor fire was caused at an industrial enterprise in Voronezh Oblast. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported so far.
These attacks are believed to be part of Ukraine’s strategy to weaken the powerful Russian Air Force and limit Moscow’s ability to launch devastating aerial assaults on Ukrainian cities. The Ukrainian military has not yet officially commented on these reports. The extent of damage caused by the drone strikes is significant, as seen in a previous attack on a Russian arms depot in Tver Oblast, which destroyed two to three months’ worth of ammunition. The situation remains tense as both countries continue to engage in military confrontations.
