Turkey praises Italy’s stance against Israeli aggression: President Erdogan

In a recent phone call with Italy’s prime minister, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised Rome’s response to Israel’s aggression in the region, highlighting Türkiye’s efforts for peace in the Middle East. Erdogan also discussed with Giorgia Meloni the need for international cooperation to stop Israeli aggression, emphasizing how Italy’s support at the UN could strengthen these efforts.

The Communications Directorate of Türkiye stated that Erdogan and Meloni also touched upon bilateral relations, global issues, and regional challenges. Erdogan expressed his belief that the relationship between Türkiye and Italy is growing stronger each day, especially in areas like defense industry where there is potential for increased trade volume.

Erdogan condemned Israel’s attacks on Palestinian territories and Lebanon, calling them unacceptable and stating that Israel has disregarded warnings and intensified violence in the region. He also appreciated Prime Minister Meloni’s support for traditional family values in contrast to LGBT advocacy.
