North Korean troops seen armed in Russia, possibly to deploy to Ukraine

CNN  —

Recent footage has emerged showing North Korean soldiers receiving uniforms and equipment at a training ground in Russia. This development seems to confirm reports that 1,500 soldiers have been sent for military training in preparation for deployment in Ukraine. It is believed that these troops are being trained before heading to the front lines in Ukraine, highlighting the growing relationship between Moscow and Pyongyang.

The soldiers, speaking Korean in the video, were seen queuing to receive their gear. Upon arrival, the recruits were asked to fill out questionnaires detailing their apparel sizes. This evidence supports concerns raised by Ukrainian President Zelensky regarding North Korea’s increasing involvement in Russia’s conflict in Ukraine.

This potential intervention marks a significant move by North Korea in an international conflict. Despite allegations of arms supplies to Moscow, both countries have denied involvement. The close relationship between Russia and North Korea has resulted in a landmark defense pact, signaling a new level of cooperation between the two nations.
