New Indian Law to Crack Down on Hoax Bomb Threats- Other Media News

In recent weeks, Indian airlines have been plagued by bomb threats, with over 120 flights targeted. The government is now considering introducing new legislation to combat this alarming trend and ensure the safety of passengers.

Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan announced plans for a no-fly list for offenders and amendments to the Civil Aviation Act to enable easier arrests and investigations. IndiGo, one of India’s leading airlines, had several flights diverted due to hoax calls, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.

Despite efforts by authorities, the perpetrators behind these threats have largely evaded capture. A 17-year-old boy was recently detained for posting bomb threats on social media, with authorities suspecting a personal vendetta as the motive.

The threats have affected numerous airlines, including IndiGo, Vistara, and Air India. With security checks and disruptions becoming a common occurrence, the need for swift action to address these threats is evident.
