Jordana Cutler, also a former senior Israeli official, “used the company’s content escalation channels” to flag for review at least four Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) posts and other content critical of Israel.

Meta’s Israel policy chief advocated for censorship of Instagram accounts belonging to SJP, a group involved in campus protests against Israel’s actions in Gaza, as reported by The Intercept.

Cutler, a former Israeli official, flagged SJP posts using Meta’s content escalation channels, invoking the Dangerous Organizations policy. The outcome of these reviews remains undisclosed by Meta.

Despite concerns raised by experts, Cutler’s actions were defended by Meta spokeswoman Dani Lever, who emphasized adherence to platform policies.

Netanyahu’s Former Advisor

Cutler, who joined Meta in 2016, previously served in high-level positions in the Israeli government and as an advisor to Benjamin Netanyahu. Her hiring was celebrated by Israeli officials for advancing dialogue with Facebook.
