Israel is considering a controversial plan to establish a “gated community” in Gaza, where Palestinians would undergo biometric screenings to receive aid, through private US logistics and security companies. According to media reports, Israel’s war cabinet is discussing proposals to create “humanitarian bubbles” in northern Gaza, allowing aid only where there are no fighters present. Global Delivery Company (GDC), led by Mordechai Kahana, is in talks with Israel to implement the program.
The International Court of Justice has urged Israel to enable basic services into Gaza, which Israel has allegedly violated. GDC, termed as “Uber for war zones,” employs non-lethal and lethal crowd control methods and is considering involvement in Gaza. Comprising former Israeli and American military personnel, GDC faces scrutiny for its ties with controversial figures.
The plan, potentially involving US security firms managing the Rafah crossing, has sparked debate over Gaza’s future. Meanwhile, Israeli settler leaders have echoed intentions to settle the entire Gaza Strip, drawing condemnation for their rhetoric of Palestinian displacement.
