Months after violent protests led to the departure of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from Bangladesh to India, an arrest warrant has been issued against the veteran leader by Bangladesh’s International Crimes Tribunal.

Accused of responsibility for the deaths of hundreds of students and protesters, Hasina is summoned to appear in court on November 18 along with 45 others charged with her.

Allegations of enforced disappearances, murder, and mass killings have been filed against Hasina and other leaders of her party, the Awami League.
