Governor Cleto accused of ‘privatizing’ UN-aided vehicles

UNMISS Vehicles Diverted by Governor Cleto in Western Bahr el Ghazal State

The Security Advisor in Western Bahr el Ghazal State is calling on Governor Sarah Cleto Rial to return two Nissan vehicles donated to the state government by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) office in Wau. Marko Peter Achor revealed that the vehicles were intended for the state security advisor and the human rights commission advisor, but were diverted by the governor to her home in Juba.

Achor explained that the vehicles were donated to address the transport challenges in the state and that Governor Cleto took possession of them without informing the state government. He emphasized that the cars were meant for government use, not personal use.

Despite efforts to retrieve the vehicles and documents confirming the governor’s receipt of them, Governor Cleto has not responded to the accusations. The security advisor is now seeking the public’s assistance in ensuring the return of the cars to the state government.

Let us hope for a swift resolution to this situation and for the return of the vehicles to their intended purpose for the benefit of the state of Western Bahr el Ghazal.
