Germany Donates 2 Million Euros to UNICEF Project in South Sudan
Germany has committed an additional 2 million Euros to a new UNICEF project aimed at providing services for women and girls in South Sudan to combat gender-based violence (GBV). This contribution will benefit 14,000 people across the country, with a focus on helping 11,000 women and girls.
The German Ambassador to South Sudan, Christian Sedat, emphasized Germany’s ongoing support for the people of South Sudan, particularly the most vulnerable groups in society. The funding is intended to improve access to essential services for victims of gender-based violence and promote safety in communities.
UNICEF’s Country Representative, Hamida Ramadhani, expressed gratitude for Germany’s support in advancing GBV programming in South Sudan. The initiative will provide comprehensive responses to gender-based violence, including health services, case management, and psychosocial support to create safer communities.
This partnership aims to protect and uplift vulnerable women and girls affected by conflict, displacement, and natural disasters in South Sudan. Germany’s donation targets areas impacted by flooding, violence, and refugee crises, ensuring that marginalized women and girls have access to essential services for their well-being and safety.
