Recently, Cyprus has faced a wave of cyberattacks targeting government websites and critical internet infrastructure. Over the past few days, six major incidents have been reported, disrupting both public services and private businesses. Despite the disruptions, authorities have successfully managed to counter these attacks.

The series of cyber assaults began with an attack on the Hermes Airport website, followed by attempts on the Bank of Cyprus and the Cyprus Electricity Authority. Subsequently, Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (CYTA) and EKO Cyprus Limited also faced cyber threats, all of which were thwarted without any operational impact.

Furthermore, government websites were targeted in an attempt to disrupt public information portals, although no other state services were affected. This spree of cyberattacks highlights the critical need for enhanced security measures in safeguarding digital assets against evolving cyber threats.
