Construction Industry Facing Tough Times

Poland’s Construction Sector Faces Challenges, But Hope Lies in Future Investments

The construction industry in Poland is grappling with contract shortages, escalating costs, and financial instability, leading to a nearly 10% decrease in production in August 2024. This downturn has impacted all segments of the industry, including civil engineering and specialized construction work.

Challenges and Obstacles

A recent survey highlighted that labor costs, workforce shortages, and economic uncertainty were major hurdles for companies in the sector. Additionally, 63% of firms reported price increases in construction services, driven by spikes in energy prices and wages.

Looking towards the Future

Despite facing financial struggles and accumulating debt, experts remain optimistic about the sector’s future. Dr. Damian Kaźmierczak believes that upcoming investments in public infrastructure and defense projects could revitalize the industry, especially if modern technologies are embraced.
