Bensaid advocates for improved executive communication; Baraka confesses failure of cattle imports.

In a recent government coalition meeting, Nizar Baraka of the Istiqlal Party and Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid of the Authenticity and Modernity Party addressed key issues facing the government. Baraka acknowledged the challenges in supporting sheep imports for Eid al-Adha last year, while Bensaid emphasized the need for better communication with citizens.

The meeting highlighted government achievements but also recognized ongoing challenges. Bensaid stressed the importance of engaging directly with the public, especially the youth, to address pressing issues and meet their expectations. He also emphasized the need for strategic laws in criminal policy and the right to strike.

Baraka reported progress in reducing inflation but noted the challenge of lowering red meat prices. He highlighted the government’s efforts to support sheep imports and address employment as a top priority.

The meeting also touched on the issue of Western Sahara, expressing anticipation for the upcoming Security Council decision. The coalition discussions did not address a potential government reshuffle, with leaders committing to upholding political norms as elections approach.
