Air Peace raises Lagos-Abuja ticket price to N200,000 starting November

In response to the harsh economic conditions, Air Peace has announced that starting from November 1, 2024, a one-way flight ticket from Lagos to Abuja will cost N200,000. This increase in airfare is a result of the challenges faced by the aviation industry, leading to airlines raising their prices.

With Air Peace setting the highest fare among domestic airlines, other carriers like Aero, Arik Air, and Ibom Air have also increased their prices, leaving many passengers stranded at airports due to the high costs of air travel.

According to an Air Peace official, the rising costs of running the business, coupled with government taxes, have forced airlines to raise their fares. This has left passengers like businessman Adeleke Aina considering alternative modes of transportation due to the escalating airfares.

As the air travel industry grapples with these economic challenges, passengers are facing difficulties securing affordable flights, especially on popular routes like Lagos-Abuja and Abuja-Lagos. The future of air travel in Nigeria remains uncertain as stakeholders navigate the impact of increasing airfares on travelers.
