Roscosmos Witnesses Unidentified Objects Near US Satellite Around Russian Orbit
Russian specialists are assessing the potential danger of unidentified objects that recently appeared near the US satellite Intelsat-33e to nearby Russian satellites, according to Roscosmos press service.
“According to data from ASPOS OKP, on October 20, 2024, approximately 20 unidentified space objects were detected around the satellite Intelsat-33e,” the statement said.
Based on calculations, the new objects appeared on October 19, 2024. Russian specialists are currently gathering coordinate data to track these objects for potential hazardous approaches with Russian satellites,” according to the state corporation.
The geostationary telecommunications satellite Intelsat-33e, launched on August 25, 2016, provides services in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
