Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with European Commissioner Iliana Ivanova to discuss Greece’s AI growth potential. Mitsotakis expressed optimism, unveiling the government’s AI strategy nearing completion, with a focus on research and innovation. The aim is to position Greece in the emerging AI ecosystem and contribute significantly.
Mitsotakis highlighted the government’s efforts in digital transformation, emphasizing the modernization of gov.gr and investments in digital infrastructure. The Commissioner encouraged Greek entrepreneurs to engage in EU programs like the Trusted Investor Network and European Innovation Council Scaling Club to foster innovation.
The meeting emphasized the importance of competitiveness and Greece’s progress in bridging the innovation gap. The government’s dedication to fostering a vibrant tech start-up ecosystem has shown positive results, including reversing brain drain.
