Lebanon reports 4 killed in Israeli strike near Beirut hospital

The recent Israeli air strikes in southern Beirut have resulted in the tragic deaths of four individuals, including a child, near a government hospital. The strikes targeted locations connected to Hezbollah, with the Rafik Hariri University Hospital car park being hit. The Israeli military issued warnings before the strikes, prompting evacuations in certain areas of southern Beirut.

Videos from the Dahiyeh neighborhood captured the chaos as locals fled the targeted locations. Israel also claimed to have identified a Hezbollah bunker under a different hospital, alleging it held vast sums of money and gold to fund attacks on Israel. This escalation has extended to targeting the group’s financial networks, including strikes on a financial association linked with Hezbollah.

As the conflict intensifies, the US has sent a special envoy to Lebanon to explore avenues for a negotiated resolution. Hezbollah has retaliated by firing rockets into northern Israel, exacerbating the already high death toll on both sides. The ongoing violence stems from tensions sparked by the Gaza conflict, with no clear end in sight.
