Israel’s demands to end Lebanon war conveyed to US: Axios

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre recently led the daily press briefing at the White House, where discussions centered around Israel’s conditions for ending the war in Lebanon. Israel has presented the United States with a document outlining their demands, including the ability for their forces to enforce restrictions to prevent Hezbollah from rearming near the border. Additionally, Israel is seeking freedom of operation in Lebanese airspace for their air force.

While a U.S. official expressed doubts about Lebanon and the international community agreeing to Israel’s terms, White House Special Envoy Amos Hochstein is actively working towards a diplomatic solution. Hochstein, on his second visit to Lebanon in two months, emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach that goes beyond simply adhering to UN resolution 1701.

As tensions escalate in the region following the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar by Israel, efforts to broker peace are crucial. The U.S. is engaged in mediating discussions between Israel and Lebanon to find a lasting resolution to the conflict.
