Germany has strongly criticized Israel for the high number of civilian casualties in northern Gaza, with more than 42,600 people killed since October 7, 2023. Deputy Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Kathrin Deschauer expressed horror at the reports of civilian deaths and emphasized the need for Israel to adhere to international law when carrying out attacks.
The siege of northern Gaza by Israel has led to the deaths of hundreds of civilians and has caused the health sector to be on the verge of collapse. The lack of food aid entering the area is causing supplies to run out, leaving the population in a dire situation.
Additionally, Israel’s attacks on UN peacekeepers in Lebanon have raised great concern. The airstrikes across Lebanon targeting Hezbollah have resulted in over 1,500 deaths and displaced over a million people.
The Foreign Ministry in Germany has called on Israel to respect international law and cease its relentless attacks on civilian populations in both Gaza and Lebanon.
